**Update as of January 2024**

Sandstone Healing Arts is an in-network provider with:

Aetna

Cigna

Health Partners

Hennepin Health

United Healthcare: Optum, UMR, Medica

UCare

Note: Call the number on the back of your insurance card to verify that I am in network with your specific plan. (For example, as an individual private practice, I am not in network with the M Health Fairview specialty UCare plan but am in network with most other UCare plans!)

If you’re not “in-Network” with my insurance, can I still get therapy at sandstone?

*Yes, though would need to budget for out-of-pocket rates

*Sandstone Healing Arts can provide you with a monthly “superbill” to submit to your insurance for any applicable out-of-network reimbursement benefits

What is dance/movement therapy?

You come to therapy… and then… we dance. Just kidding. Well, maybe, sometimes. :) Dance/Movement Therapy (D/MT) is named as such because the people who established it as a western mental health counseling profession were initially American modern dancers and dance teachers. But healing in community with music, rhythm, nature, art, dance, and movement is as old as humanity. You can visit the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) website to learn about this organization, but how movement shows up in YOUR healing journey will be collaborative.

What is Body Psychotherapy?

Body Psychotherapy (BP) in its current western counseling format is most clearly traced back to the work of Austrian psychiatrist Wilhem Reich and his students. It is an approach to mental health counseling that centers the physical body and the felt sense of one’s own body in the mental health therapy process. You can visit the United States Association of Body Psychotherapy to learn more about the field. Again, what this might be like in YOUR therapy process will unfold through co-creation with your therapist.
